Hailed as a charismatic and fearless pianist, Tracy Tang brings emotional magnetism and technical brilliance across the stages of Carnegie Hall to Wigmore Hall. Her recent concerts in Asia featured Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto where she appeared with the Chinese National Symphony Orchestra for a series of performances across China, culminating at Forbidden City Hall in Beijing.

The Chinese-American pianist draws upon her multi-cultural background to inspire her musical language and purpose. Her diverse upbringing inspires her to be an active partner in her communities and local orchestras, performing for schools, rehabilitation centers, and senior residences. A believer of music as a humanitarian aid resource and a way to give back to the community, she performs and organizes benefit concerts, including performance collaborations spanning various fields of artistic disciplines, to support crisis relief and advocate for minority groups. Her partnerships include Room to Read and Doctors without Borders. In hopes of widening musical education and accessibility, she is a frequent guest lecturer on musical interpretation at national institutions across the United States.

At her core, Tracy is happiest sharing her repertory with new audiences. Finding different ways to connect classical art forms and contemporary culture, her well-received solo recital series, Café Society, combines the pianist’s own writings on musical sentiment and the shared human experience, with piano music, to explore new forms of expression, redefining conventional performance.

Laureate of international competitions across the world, including the first prize of the Los Angeles International Piano Competition, Tracy studied in Vienna and Paris before receiving her Bachelor and Master degrees with Honors from the New England Conservatory. Her mentors include Aquiles Delle Vigne, Noel Flores, Alexander Korsantia, and Yevgeny Sudbin. Often invited to appear at festivals in Europe and North America, such as Aspen Music Festival and Art of the Piano, Tracy has attended masterclass with Dimitri Bashkirov, Hung-Kuan Chen, Jerome Lowenthal, and Robert Levin. Tracy is currently completing her Advanced Diploma on full scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music with Christopher Elton and will join Boston University as a Doctorate of Musical Arts candidate in the fall.
